NATO MILITARY
NATO was created in the aftermath of World War II as tensions between the Western allies and the Soviet Union escalated, leading to the Cold War. The organization's original 12 members included the United States, Canada, and several Western European nations. Over the decades, NATO has expanded to include former Soviet bloc countries, reinforcing its role in European security. With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, NATO adapted its strategic objectives to address emerging global threats such as terrorism, cyber warfare, and regional conflicts.
